foreign tongue: a look into language and the translation of poetry
In Marjorie Perloff's essay Deja Dit, she mentioned a poet named Yoko Tawada who speaks German and recites her words in the language, but doesn't feel a connection to them since it is her second language. This got me curious about her work and the disconnect she feels from, so I'd like to examine this thought further for my conference paper.
